Further Information
  • Cadet model
  • Reliable and easy to use
  • Lasts for approx 3000 strikes
  • Totally weatherproof
  • Amazing heat producing qualities
The Web-tex Steel-of-Fire offers amazing firestarting qualities even under cold, wet and windy conditions. This makes it an essential survival tool, whether you are on exercise, hunting, fishing or camping.
Take a small amount of dry grass, birch bark, resinous firewood or any other inflammable material, place into a small pile. Holding the small handle between finger and thumb, place the end of the Steel-of-Fire into or next to the inflammable material. Use the rear side of the special attached blade, or the back edge of a knife, and slowly, whilst applying downwards pressure, slide it over the steel to produce hot sparks. Aim the sparks down into the inflammable material. Once the fire has become established, build it up slowly by gradually adding thin pieces of material, building up to thicker ones until your fire reaches the desired size.

Great fire lighter
When I received this, it far surpassed my expectations. Not only was the steel a lot thicker than I thought it would be, but the sparks that come off of it get my tinder going instantly. It even sparks when wet, as I found out by holding it under the kitchen tap!
Pros: Great lighting qualities, Reliable, Great size yet compact, Massive amount of sparks
Cons: none
Would recommend: Yes
