Ab-Tex is a waterproof/breathable coating that has been specially developed for garments by leading manufacturers of outdoor pursuits. Ab-Tex fabric ensures a very high level of waterproofing while maintaining an excellent breathability rating that will guarantee protection from most weather conditions and keep you warm, dry and comfortable. Ab-tex fabric works by uniting molecules from various compounds to form a membrane that allows moisture to evaporate while at the same time acting as an impenetrable barrier to rain.

Q & A's
Q & A's
Q: How much do they weigh?
A: It will depend on the size, but a mid-range size large weighs 446g.
Q: Could I wear these as over trousers
A: Yes, they are designed to be worn over other trousers.
Q: Do these trousers have a inside linning?
A: No, they are a single layer of waterproof breathable material.
Q: I'm interested in your waterproof trousers, can you please tell me if you think they would be suitable for me? I go beating on a local shoot and have to walk through kale which is up to my waist, and generally soaking wet from the rain! I have tried several over trousers of my own but just get completely soaked, then have to stay soaked for the rest of the day! What do you think?
A: Well, the only way water is going to get underneath these trousers is if it comes over the waist or under the ankles, but if they're pulled in tight then this shouldn't be a problem. They are breathable too so any sweat will be able to escape through the material.
Q: Is this product material or plastic based. I'm going to be helping clear gorse and shrub and wonder if the product is reasonably tear resistant. Thanks
A: These do have a material feel to them and are made from Ab-Tex which works just the same as Gore-Tex making them 100% waterproof and breathable. These are quite hard wearing and should be quite suitable.
Q: Are these more waterproof than hi vis waterproofs and similar to the gortex ones?
A: These are 100% waterproof and also breathable, so very similar to gore-tex material.
Q: Do they have a fly zip?
A: They don't have any fly at all, but do have an elasticated waist with a drawcord which can easily be released.
Q: How breathable are these trousers? Do they make the wearer sweat?
A: These are fully breathable, allowing sweat vapour to escape while blocking water from entering.
Q: 2xl size 30" to 42" waist. How can that be?
A: The waist is elasticated so it fits a range of sizes.
Q: How waterproof are these? Would they keep the wearer dry during a prolonged downpour of heavy rain?
A: Yes, these are 100% waterproof.
Q: I was just wondering if your 'leg measurement' is inside leg, or total hip to ankle length?
A: They are inside length.
Q: Do these trousers provide any kind of warmth or are they simply waterproof?
A: No they are designed as a waterproof outer layer, so you would generally wear a warmer mid-layer garment underneath them.
