Further Information
  • Genuine issue from Dutch army
  • 1944 pattern
  • Stainless steel construction
  • Foldaway handles
  • Lightweight - approx 250g
  • Approximate capacity 750ml
  • Use for eating, drinking, and cooking
This is a great bit of kit from the Dutch army. Made from very tough stainless steel, this mug is strong as well as lightweight. It's great for packing light, and it can be used as a drinks cup, food bowl or saucepan for cooking directly on a stove. You can even use as all three to minimise that dreaded washing up, and save on weight and pack size.
Capacity is approximately 750ml, which will make around 2 cups of tea, and should be more than enough for heating soups and noodles.
Features strong foldaway handles that make it easy to use and a smooth lip for drinking. It is also compatible with certain water bottles.
Great for camping, cadets, hiking/walking trips and fishing.
Approximate empty weight is 250g.

Dutch 44 pattern mug=superb
My son has a crusader cup, these mugs are lighter but still bomb proof and big enough to take two packs of noodles. Cheaper too, great product.

Dutch 44 Pattern Stainless steel mug
A good hardwearing mug, rolled stainless top lip wont damage your mouth or kit, thick handles for easy grip with cold wet hands. will not go soft like aluminium if over heated. Can be cleaned with a brillo pad/wirewool without damaging it. Fits the std dutch 44 pattern bottle and other Nato 44 styles Avon, swedish etc. Will not fit the 58 pattern british bottle which is fatter or the US bottle which has a wider base and fuller body. Can be used with the crusader cooker unit if the cooker is turned around the other way as the handles are on the opposite side to the crusader cup ones.
Pros: none
Cons: none
Would recommend: Yes

Handy lil mugs
I got 2 of these for when I hiking to simply brew a coffee on the trail. They're great. Hold around 700ml of fluid and being metal can actually be put onto a burner or open fire for heating the liquid. Mine were a bit grimy, but5 nothing a milton and boiling water couldn't sort out.
Pros: Good condition, Great size, All metal
Cons: none
Would recommend: Yes
