A: These are a fully waterproof outer layer so you can wear any type of trousers underneath.
Q: Are these trousers an overtrouser or can they be worn on their own as a hiking trouser.
A: They are an over-trouser.
Q: what would these trousers be like if you walked threw deep water? ie a small river?
A: The material itself is 100% waterproof, although you would require extra protection around the ankles to prevent water seeping through the bottom.
