Nice pack
No bad surprises, a brand new and quite nice field pack. A bit smaller than expected but the size in cm is given in the product description (doh!).
Pros: Just as described, No warehouse smell, New unissued
Cons: Shoulder strap could be wider
Would recommend: Yes

As designed, ideal for General Service Respirator
After purchasing the GSR (General Service Respirator) With filters, I purchased the New British Army MTP Field Pack to store and carry my GSR. To date that has been the only role I have used the pack for, although I am considering purchasing a second pack to serve as a camera bag. The pack seems to be well suited to carrying the GSR as you would expect as it was designed for this role. The GSR Can be easily and quickly placed inside and removed from the pack. The seemingly tough design of the pack I trust will keep my GSR safe and damage free for many years to come. There are a lot of pockets, some removable on the pack that could make it ideal as a camera bag or general use bag. It should be noted however that there is not much room in the internal pockets when the pack is being used to house a GSR. The only issues I have with the pack are with the main strap. The ted plastic straps mounting the main strap to the pack don't have any swiveling function. This means the main strap is permanently twisted if both mounts are attached to the pack in the same directional position. It also means that the pack never really sits comfortably on me regardless of mount setting. Also there is nothing to tie back the excess strap after the main strap is adjusted, leaving it hanging loose and may get in your way but for me for now just makes the pack look untidy.
Pros: Seemingly strong., Ideal for GSR storage., Ideal GSR carrier.
Cons: Main strap lacks swivel function, Nothing to tie back excess strap
Would recommend: Yes

British Army MTP Field Pack
Intended to be carried low on the hip by a single, diagonally worn shoulder strap supplemented by an elasticated thigh strap for stability this bag, if packed with thought and care, could easily replace a conventionally worn daysac. There is ample room in the main compartment for a basha, main knife, cookset, food packs and spare clothing. Two detachable side pockets offer carrying space for, for instance, a water bottle, fire making kit and other tools and equipment necessary for an overnighter, even a long weekend. Could also be used to carry a laptop and peripheral equipment as the material's thickness does offer some degree of protection.
Pros: Thoughtfully designed, Comfortable to carry., Very well contructed.
Cons: Velcro patches overlong.
Would recommend: Yes
