These Bates Ultra Light Patrol Boots have been specifically developed for the British military.
These boots fall within the MOD's specification for "Boots Patrol (BP)". The official specification states "The BP is primarily for use where the combat threat is medium to low and patrol pack weight is light. As the threat level in any situation can accelerate the BP may also be used for heavy combat use for limited periods. Terrain including road, field, track, rubble and rock. The area of use and terrain embraces climatic areas A3 and C0 as described in Defence Standard 00-35 (Part 4); this covers temperatures ranging from -10°C to +35°C and 0%rH to 80%rH.
The extremes of this range will be for short periods of use and in combination i.e. with Warm Weather or Extreme Cold Weather (ECW) socks and GS Gaiter."
Founded in 1885, Bates has grown and flourished as a result of their advancements in footwear technologies and their unwavering commitment to those who depend on their products. Today, Bates proudly serves as one of the largest suppliers of footwear to the US federal government and elite military organizations in more than sixty countries.
These are used boots and so may arrive with some mud and/or scuffs and scratches, but they are very rugged and so have plenty of life left in them. We cannot offer any guarantees as to the cosmetic condition of these boots.

Nice boots
Bought these today for dog walking and bushcraft, however I've found they're not waterproof and feel a size bigger in the toe area than that marked. Plenty of life left in them and comfortable from the get go, the grip is superb. As a light weight summer walking or bushcraft boot these are excellent value for money. (The sizing is probably my own fault I did quickly try them on in the shop but without laces) If it wasn't for the water proofing and sizing I'd say these were EXCELLENT as it is I'd rate them as GOOD.
Pros: Good Grip, Good Value, Comfortable, Lightweight
Cons: No waterproof, Sizing might be an issue
Sizing: Feels large
Would recommend: Yes

Love these boots!
I swear these boots were brand new when it came out of the bag.apart from a small scratch in the toe, the boots are in almost pristine condition. even the soles are squeaky clean! the boot itself is so comfortable you'll gladly wear it even in bed. but don't let the comfort fool you its tough enough to withstand the challenges of rugged terrain.my only gripe is that the tags are somewhat misleading. i ordered a men's boot but the boot tag says boots, patrol female.somebody in the staff must have forgotten to double check the order. all the same good quality boot and would recommend it anyday.
Pros: comfortable and durable
Cons: Wrong tags
Sizing: Feels about right
Would recommend: Yes
