Q & A's
Q & A's
Q: is this jacket suitable in extremely cold conditions. I just moved to London from south africa and dont have any warm jackets would this be suitable for the winter periods.
A: Yes, this has a thick fleece liner and everyone remarks on how warm it is.
Q: What is the length of the sleeves this jacket in size L?
A: The sleeve when measured along the seam underneath the armpit to the cuff is approximately 21".
Q: For the black color of this jacket, is the color a mixture of black and dark green or just black?
A: It is just plain black, although it is stonewashed so may appear a little washed out in places.
Q: what is sleeve lenth of large size jacket from top of shoulder to cuff thank you .
A: The sleeve length from the top of the shoulder to the cuff (not including the velcro fold piece) is approximately 66cm.
Q: Some of the reviews mention the jacket has a sort of vintage, weathered look. Is this correct? I've seen another vendors M65 jacket that was very olive green, with no fading or washed out look at all. The Alpha M65 olive green has a good, washed out look, but they are very hard to get hold of. So I wondered if this jacket was very olive green or somewhat washed out. Thanks!
A: This is a stonewashed M65 to give it a more vintage washed look. There are lots of other types of M65 jackets available, some of which we sell.
Q: could you please advise me on the length of the arms from shoulder to cuff on the medium jacket..
A: The seam on the arm of the medium jacket that runs from the shoulder to the cuff measures 62cm. Most people turn the cuffs up as they are intentionally long.
Q: Is it brand new or used
A: It is brand new.
Q: is this jacket overall windproof?
A: Yes, as it has drawcords at the bottom and waist and velcro fastening at the cuffs.
Q: does this included the qulited in linning ?
A: It's a fleece lining that's included.
Q: is the xxl any longer in length than the xl not sur if i need it longer in the length
A: The XL size measures approximately 31" in length when measured from the top of the collar at the front to the bottom of the hem and the XXL appears to be 33".
Q: what are the measurements from the back of the jacket - top of shoulder seam to top of shoulder seam (straight across) for Small and Medium sizes?
A: Measuring across the top from one shoulder seam to the other measures 19" for the small and 20" for the medium.
Q: is it waterproof?
A: No, only shower-proof.
Q: wots the length for samll and medium
A: The small size measured from the top of the collar to the bottom of the hem is approximately 32" and there is no difference for the medium in length.
Q: Hi. I have a chest size that measures 43.5". Should I go for a L or do you think a XL would fit me better?
A: These are quite generous sized jackets, so the Large should be big enough for your size chest.
Q: hi guys got the m65 jacket but sleeves are to long any ideas to wear or shorten
A: Most people turn the cuffs up as they are intentionally long. There is also a velcro tab to fasten the cuff between thumb and index finger during cold weather.
Q: Does the M65 jacket have a hood? If so, is the hood detachable, or can it be concealed in the collar?
A: This jacket does have a hood in a zip compartment concealed in the collar, but it is not detachable.
Q: What colour is the fleece in the olive green jacket?
A: The fleece itself is green. The collar is a darker green. The outer shell of the liner is a brown colour.
Q: Are there any inside pockets?
A: No, just the outer pockets.
Q: I have this jacket and would like to know if you can get a replacement inner liner?
A: Sorry no, they are only sold as a set.
Q: Do you sell the patches to go on this product?
A: We have a range of sew-on badges available on our website.
Q: Is this jacket made by Alpha?
A: No, but we do stock Alpha M65 jackets.
Q: Color available in maritime blue?
A: Sorry no.
Q: Are these jackets actual army surplus or are they new?
A: These are commercially made and brand new.
Q: Are you likely to do this in a xxxl?
A: Sorry, these are only manufactured up to a XXL.
Q: Please can someone give me the measurement of this jacket, measuring from the back of the jacket the length, from the bottom of the collar to the draw cord at the bottom of the jacket. I have to ask before buying because i am well over 6ft tall and jackets sometimes look a bit short.
A: For a size large, it measures approx 79cm.
Q: If the jacket isn't waterproof, is there anything I can do with it to make it more resistant to rain?
A: You might consider our range of Nikwax products for waterproofing garments.
Q: Is the jacket waterproof?
A: No.
Q: What is the difference between the m65 and the m65 regiment jackets?
A: The main difference is that the M65 Regiment comes with a thick fleece lining. But they also have a 'vintage' cut which makes them very fashionable.

Bring on the cold
Always wanted one & the missus obliged and bought me one for Christmas. I can't add much to what's already been said, but I will say watch the sizes. She bought me a large (I'm 38") and it was huge - could have got both of us inside it. A quick visit and exchange for a M soon sorted it, but whilst the L was massive, the M is just right. There does seem to be a bit of a gap between the two which may catch you out if you've got say, a 40" chest. If you, like me, always buy size L everything, you'll want this badboy as a M! The jacket itself is very well made and is very warm & comfortable. With the liner in place it is quite heavy and you certainly know you've got it on. 4/5 from me.
Pros: Price, Super warm, Looks awesome
Cons: Sizes misleading, Quite heavy
Sizing: Feels about right

Great jacket
This is a great quality jacket. It is extremely warm and yet relatively lightweight. It has loads of useful pockets and a fold-away hood. The inner liner comes out easily and can be worn alone as a separate lightweight quilted jacket. I consider this jacket to be excellent value for money. It is also very stylish and versatile. I would recommend it to anybody. Remember to read what it says on the web page and order a size down. I usually buy size XL but with the M65 Regiment size L is plenty big enough. I also highly recommend Mean and Green as accompany. If you haven’t bought from these guys before you can rest assured they are extremely reliable with an excellent after-sales service. They often pack orders and pass them to the courier within just a couple of hours. The packaging is great and the overall level of serviced is excellent.
Pros: Stylish, Relatively lightweight, Extremely warm.

Sizing: Feels large

Nice Jacket!
Received it in good time, however the stud buttons were faulty ad had to send it back. I received a second one a few days later. Thus far I like the jacket, very, very warm. Taking the inside jacket out may be enough for most UK weather unless its below zero! With the inside jacket in, its a heavy jacket so you need to bear this in mind. Looks good and pretty good quality overall.
Pros: Very Warm, Looks good
Cons: Stud buttons seem fragile

The best online purchase i have made !
I ordered my M65 reg jacket yesterday and it arrived by 1130 this morning ! It's absolutely fantastic, I love it. It looks great, it is so well made and all the detailing i.e.: zips, buttons, etc are great. The lining is super warm and very thick, it's going to be ideal for freezing days. I am 6'1" with a 40" regular jacket fit, i looked at the reviews and plumped for a small , it's perfect. for me with the lining i would only get a t-shirt to fit underneath, without the lining i could were another couple of layers, so a good combo for me. Sleeve length is great. I just got back from Vietnam where i was looking for a vintage M65, I saw some which were $200 and weren't a patch on this one. For the money and the service you cannot do any better than this anywhere ! If your after a military jacket ... this is it !
Pros: Great value, Perfect fit, Awesome detailing, Great colour, Hi spec manufacture

I am a very happy customer. This jacket is awesome. I ordered the olive green version of this jacket and I can't really fault it on anything. I have 40" chest but went with the small and it fits like a glove, with or without liner. The worn vintage look is very cool indeed. Also can't wait for the cold weather now so that I can stay warm this year, as the jacket certainly will make that a reality. I must also say how pleased I am with thye service from Mean And Green. The best jacket ever!
A wonderfull jacket to do what i intented to. Extremly warm liner, heavy cotton outer shell, outstanding design (i have the black one)! Only need to be waterproof to be the perfect 4 seasons jacket i needed, so here is what i've done: only bought a packable breathable water/wind proof shell that i keep in the liner pocket that makes me a 3 layers jacket. Either i've replaced every cordons with 550 paracord and locks for thightening. Then i made of it a survival/everyday use jacket that i carry everywhere i go (street, hiking, camping, outdoor activities). My chest size is 39.7" and i ordered the SMALL size that fits me perfectly with or without the liner (even i can add another layer). Thanks to M&G: ordered on friday and received in FRANCE next tuesday, so extremly fast shipment and serious company!!!
Pros: Outstanding design in black, Very lightweight without liner, Extremly warm with liner, Multiple activities use

Very practical!
This jacket is fantastic! The internal fleece is great for taking out when it's gotten damp but not too cold, and the jacket itself is just a smart jacket for keeping warm and waterproof in. Combine the two on a particularly stormy night (The Peak District; it's more common than you'd think!) and you have a practical, stylish jacket.

My favourite jacket
I bought a black one of these, via this website, at the start of June, Almost immediately this became my favourite jacket, as I wore it every evening camping out at the TT Races. As night time temperatures dropped to low single figures, this coat kept me snug & warm. It's as snug & cosy as a down jacket, but cheaper, tougher, and the kind of thing you don't mind scuffing or getting a bit muddy. The large size is generously proportioned and the hip pockets fall nicely to hand. The breast pockets easily hold a chunky camera or fat wallet. You can wear the inner separately if you like - but it looks a bit effete, compared to the chunky, tough looks of the outer heavy cotton jacket.
Pros: Practical pockets, Very comfortable & warm, Nice high collar & velcro strap
Cons: None really, Hard to choose which colour!
Sizing: Feels about right
