This organic based ethanol gel fuel offers key advantages over conventional solid fuels like Hexamine and Trioxane without compromising efficient heat output. The fuel burns with a clean, smokeless and odourless blue flame which does not blacken cooking utensils, flavour food or odourise clothing. It is non-toxic both if inhaled or ingested allowing it to be safely stored with foodstuffs and used in confined spaces.
Q & A's
Q & A's
Q: Does this gel burn with a yellow or blue flame? If you squeeze it onto a stone and then light it how high would the flame be?
A: It burns with an orange flame which is around 2 inches high.
Q: The ethanol gel fuel is it burnt in the sachet or do you cut it open and squeeze it into a small tray to burn. I am looking for a safer fuel than meths which can spread flames if it leaks.
A: You do squeeze it out of the sachet onto a suitable surface before lighting.
Q: Can you use the Ethanol Gel Fuel in a Hexamine stove? If so how would you?
A: The Ethanol Gel Fuel can be squeezed onto any suitable surface, e.g. stone, and lit. The stove can then be placed over it as usual.
