Can't be beaten
Bought the jacket last year and have now come back to order the matching trousers for when it's really tipping down with rain. They are the best waterproofs I've ever owned. Do they keep me dry? Yes! That's all I need from waterproofs so they get 5 stars from me!
Pros: Material not too 'rustly', Good value, Fully waterproof
Cons: none
Would recommend: Yes

Split at seams
After wearing these over trousers five times over wellington,s the seams have failed, were they rub on top of boot , in my opinion they should have lasted longer,i was really pleased with them at first , but now very disappointed , if your wearing them with walking boots I think they may last longer
Pros: Lightweight , comfortable
Cons: Seams split after little use
Sizing: Feels about right
Would recommend: No

Brilliant
You know those waterproof pants they sell in the walking shops that cost between £10 and £35? Well these are nothing like those flimsy, thin sweaty pants. These are at least four times as thick, pack down to around the same the same size and are completely water proof. They are stronger and better in every-way and most importantly they breath so you don't get sweaty in them. I'm now saving for the jacket.
Pros: Well made, Strong, 100% water proof
Cons: none
Sizing: Feels about right
Would recommend: Yes

Keep dry
Fine pair of waterproof trousers. Only grumble is the sizing. I'm not exactly big but I purchased a large size to accommodate clothing underneath. They fit but with little room to spare. Otherwise a good product and the breath well when working in the rain.
Pros: Everthing but the size
Cons: Sizing
Sizing: Feels small
Would recommend: Yes

Worth every penny
I do a lot of general walking and also a great deal of hill walking and as I live in Scotland, you can imagine the extreme winds and heavy rain that we get on a regular basis. I was a bit unsure because they are described as Ab-Tex not Gore-Tex but I have to say they are superb. I have been out in some terrible conditions and several times in heavy downpours and absolutely nothing got through. Will definitely go for these again as they are by far the best I've tried in all the years I've been walking. Very impressed!
Pros: Simple elasticated waist, Available in different colours, Completely waterproof
Cons: none
Sizing: Feels about right
Would recommend: Yes

Leak Through Pockets
Used them for motorcycling. When I first got them I did notice that the flaps over the hip pockets were back to front, i.e. exposed the zips to the front. Needless to say, the first time I wore them in a bit of rain, the flaps actually created a water trap resulting in water leaking through the zips, and wet trousers underneath. I suspect this is a design or manufacturing fault, but M&G are having none of it. So BEWARE if you plan to wear them on your motor bike or scooter!! In my view, didn't do what they said on the tin. Shame really, bought other stuff from M&G that's been great.
Pros: Waterproof everywhere BUT pocket
Cons: Pockets leak through zips
Sizing: Feels about right
Would recommend: No
Follow-up by Meanandgreen: Sorry to hear they didn't stand up to the rigours of motorbiking, Paul. We've sold hundreds of pairs of these and no-one has ever commented on the pockets before, although most people would be using them for walking rather than motorbiking.
