Q: 1.What is the diffrence with Ab-tex and Gor-tex.
2.If there is no diffrence why is gor-tex more expensive.
3.Is there a diffrence in dimensions between the soldier 95 gor-tex and the waterproof breathable jacket
A: Ab-tex and Gore-tex are both brand names owned by different companies, but the material they produce is based on the same technology so is waterproof and breathable. Both these jackets and the Soldier 95 ones come up big and are similarly sized.

Q: Do you sell a suitable liner/other layer for this jacket, as the info suggests the jacket works best as a top layer?
A: We don't have a liner for this jacket, but you might want to look at our Hunter Jacket, as that is basically the same thing but with a padded lining.

A: Yes, it's the same material as the rest of the jacket, and it is a good size so would come down over the forehead.

Q: I wanted to know if the jacket has a lining or not (for rainy & cold rides on a scooter). Also interested in the trousers, I wonder if it is suppposed to be worn on its own or if it is an "over trouser" thing.
A: Both jacket and trousers are unlined and are designed to be worn over other layers of clothing.

Q: I want to carry this jacket on my bike does it pack down small? Also can I take it that the 2XL is 56 inch chest.
A: A 2XL jacket packs down to approximately 23 x 10 x 10cm. The armpit-to-armpit measurements given are the absolute maximum exterior measurements so they would be suitable for a chest slightly smaller than that. It is best to measure a jacket you already own to compare.

Q: How noisy is this jacket? i'm thinking of using it for shooting, so need it to be quiet.
A: It is quite a soft material and so relatively quiet. It is certainly quieter than a lot of waterproof jackets, including the British Army issue ones.

The Best Classic Style Waterproof
Hipsters spend a fortune on jackets about as stylish and half as good from places like Oi Polloi. I searched for ages to find something like this. It's as effective as, say, a North Face but reasonably priced and with a simple classic design. It has what you need and nothing more: the right number of pockets, fasteners and adjusters. The green logo-free traditional-cut jacket is waterproof, breathable, lightweight, packs up easily. It can still feel a little sticky on a rainy summer day, just as Gore-Tex is imperfect in this regard too. A small feels large but then not as large as a small Alpha M-65 feels. That's two nit-picks. It's perfect over a Snugpak Softie in the cold. It's overall the best jacket of its kind you'll find.
Pros: Packs away easily, Breathable, Lightweight, Waterproof, Simple classic design
Cons: About as breathable as Gore-Tex
Sizing: Feels large

Excellent value for money
I bought the jacket and trouser suit.It is totally waterproof, and has been exposed to continuous heavy Scottish rain, the hood is substantial, and well sized (you can wear a bene hat under it. The jacket is roomy, as are the bottoms, although they are difficult to get on over boots. I often wear a snugpak jacket underneath as an insulating layer and this is comfortable. I'm a 42-44 inch chest and find the large jacket perfect, a 34inch waist with 30 inch inside leg and the medium sized over trouser are great apart from getting them on and off over boots. I have had them a year now and they are pretty manky cos I am afraid to wash them incase I affect the waterproofing, and now the right sleeve of the jacket has sustained a 1 inch tear as a result of some rough play with my German Shepherd Dog. A great jacket, and over trouser suit worth the money.
Pros: Folds compactly, Comfortable, Light weight, Waterproof
Cons: none
Sizing: Feels large

Doesn't Make you sweat
I bought this jacket as I go hiking a lot. When I started to get hot, I noticed I wasn't sweating as much as I normally do. It's a light jacket and very handy
Pros: Doesn't make you sweat as much
Cons: A small was still a bit big
Sizing: Feels large

Totally waterproof
I bought a black one of these for when I go hill walking in Scotland. It packs down quite well so I tend to start off the walk with it stowed away inside my rucksack. But, being Scotland, I usually end up needing it before too long! The jacket is quite comfortable to wear, doesn't make too much of an annoying rustle, and most importantly does keep you totally dry.
Pros: Hood folds away in collar, Packs down well, Good waterproof material
Cons: none
Sizing: Feels large
Would recommend: Yes
