This limited edition cap commemorates the efforts of the US airborne divisions during the D-Day landings: 1st Infantry Division, 4th Infantry Division, 29th Infantry Division, 90th Infantry Division, Rangers Battalions, 82nd Airborne Division and 101st Airborne Division.
During D-Day, June 6th 1944, the allied landing forces invaded the beaches of Normandy, France. In the night of June 5th - June 6th, the US 82nd and 101st airborne divisions jumped into occupied France, behind Utah beach. In the early morning of the 6th, units of the US 1st, 4th, 29th and 90th infantry divisions landed on Omaha and Utah beach while US Rangers scaled the cliffs at Pointe Du Hoc.
Over 24,000 allied airborne troops, 140,000 allied soldiers and 5,000 allied ships landed on no more than 50 miles of Normandy coast, divided into five sectors: Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword.
Together with their allied brothers-in-arms the US troops overcame all initial problems, and the D-Day landings became a pivotal chapter in WWII history.
Lest we forget.
