Q: Can the open part near the top also be buttoned to look like the rest?
A: Yes it can. There are an additional 2 buttons at the top which are hidden behind the collar in the photo.
Q: can you tell me the difference in length from the neck to the bottom of the coat between the regular and long.
A: The regular is approx 49 inches from collar to hem and the long is approx 52 inches from collar to hem.

Good long coat to wear when it's too cold for a short jacket or 3/4 coat but not cold enough for a heavy wool coat.
Pros: Long unlike some military coats, Classic austrian/german look, Fold over french cuffs, Fully lined with padding, Includes insignia
Cons: No inside pockets
Sizing: Feels about right
